Italy, living a dream
A new journey to take you by the hand to explore life in Italy.
I lived in the North of Italy on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where expensive villas surrounded. By lavish gardens reach down to the shores, and in the summer the surrounding towns and villages teem with tourists from all over the world.
Bordering on Switzerland the area of Italy is a world apart from the south where I live now.
The North-South divide here is very broad, each region offers so much, and if you want to visit Italy it is virtually impossible to tell you the best area to visit.

The choice very much depends on what you want to do and see.
There is virtually a guarantee of seasonal weather certainly an attractive proposition for anyone coming from the UK.
In the mountain regions which stand stoically in many regions in North, South, East and West you will find plenty of snow in winter. There is a significant choice of ski resorts too, some small but others very large, all catering for skiers at all levels. My experience of the ski schools here too have all been excellent.
If you prefer the sea, then the coastline on both sides of the country offers so many incredibly beautiful places to visit from tiny coves to vast expanses of golden sand. The sea varying in shades of blue from azure to turquoise.
You cannot avoid being immersed in history, with innumerable hilltop castles, extravagantly adorned churches, and ancient villages steeped in tradition.

Famous monuments like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or The Forum in Rome are instantly recognisable creating an instant image of what everyone expects from Italy.
I would be failing Italy too if I did not mention Venice. A place so utterly unique that you must see it. Sadly sinking albeit slowly, thankfully it is at it's most beautiful in the winter when it's splendour is haunting.

Food, food glorious food. For the Italian people perhaps the aspect of their lives and culture which they hold most dear.
The meal or the occasion really doesn't matter. Food is here in abundance to be both revered and enjoyed.
Slow food, now a trendy innovation in the UK and the USA means following tradition here, although ironically the Italians produced the first now global fast food item, which is the pizza of course.
Most food is bought fresh and cooked using the basic ingredients. Most if not all is found close at home too, so ecologically friendly, being mostly local and not having travelled halfway around the world before arriving on the plate.

Every home takes pride in its cuisine, and you will rarely visit anyone without being offered something to eat

Living in Molise, is living, loving and laughing.
That is what life is all about
